Twin sensations Chelsea Reznicek, catcher, and Nicole Reznicek, pitcher, of the Peru State softball team are among 395 softball student-athletes who have been named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Peru State head coach Mark Matthews said he is proud of the efforts of the Rezniceks. "Not only did the Rezniceks put through a tremendous amount of effort on the field, they did so in the classroom. They are the epitome of true meaning of "student-athlete," Matthews said.
The two scholar-athletes increase softball's total to 50 the number of Peru State players named since 1989.
