Melda Sudman, 93, of Syracuse, passed away on April 26, 2019, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on Aug. 2, 1925, to H. August and Edith (Poppe) Niemann near Cook.
Melda married Harvey Sudman on June 1, 1947, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage). Melda worked on the farm alongside Harvey. She was active in church and was also a 4-H leader. Melda also enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her sons: Terry (Gloria) Sudman, Dalyce (Kristy) Sudman; daughter: Jill Brenning; grandchildren: Melissa (Matthew) Bruce, Rebecca (Ben) Bauman, Wesley (Taryn) Sudman, Chris (Alissa) Brenning, Andrea (Adam) Gullion, Brandon (Staci) Brenning, Corey Sudman, Dylan Sudman; step granddaughters: Ashley Gillespie, Heather Teten; 13 great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; sister: Lucille Kreifels; sister-in-law: Sally Niemann; brother-in-law: Bob Rutledge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Camille Ann Sudman; infant son: Thomas Lynn Sudman; infant great grandson: Justin Bruce; son-in-law: Brad Brenning and Brother: Eldred Niemann.
Funeral services were to be Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage) in rural Cook. Burial will be at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery (Osage). Visitation was to be Tuesday, April 30 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
