Robert Edward Heye, age 93 of Nebraska City died April 20, 2019, at The Ambassador in Nebraska City.  
Robert was born Nov. 29, 1925, on the family farm near Nebraska City to Edward and Ella (Fenske) Heye.  
Robert married Elsie Sothman on Dec. 15, 1959, in Nebraska City. Elsie died May 1, 2010.  
He lived and farmed in the Nebraska City and Dunbar areas his entire life and was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and Eagles Aerie No. 968.  
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  
He loved spending time with family, gardening, farming and taking care of his farm animals and livestock.  
He also loved attending old fashioned thrashing bees and antique farm equipment shows. Survivors include his son, David Heye and wife Theresa; daughter, Carol Marshall and husband Dennis all of Nebraska City; granddaughters, Cailyn Heye, Natalie Sevening and husband Alex, Ashley Mayer and husband Jaime, Julie Marshall and fiancé Jake Jarzynka and Abbie Marshall; great grandchildren, Estel and Oliver Mayer, Alessandra and Atticus Sevening; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and brother, Walter Heye.
Funeral services were to be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery.
Visitations were to be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
