Dr. Phillip Leroy Brown was called to serve the Lord on Jan. 18, 2019, at the tender age of 62. He was welcomed into this world Dec. 11, 1956 by his parents; Lawrence L. and  Lois M. Brown (Owen) at St Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City.
Attending Nebraska City Public Schools, he participated in many activities before graduating  in 1975.  He was active in The First Christian Church; Cub Scouts; Boy Scouts achieving God and Country Award in 1970 and Eagle Scout in 1971.
Phillip attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning his undergraduate and Doctor of Dentistry Degrees (1980 and 1984).
 After college he built a private Dental Practice before transitioning into dental research and development where he was credited with  two patents and his expertise recognized, being Published, after writing more than 30 articles/research papers.
Married on March 30, 1991, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Emeson-Brown of Schaumburg, Ill.;  his step children Derek Emeson (Victoria) and Carly Emeson-Barnett (Jason). Preceded in death by his mother, Lois, he is also survived by his father, Lawrence of Nebraska City; and brother, Raymond Brown (Bonnie) of Broomfield, Colo.
A memorial service will be  Friday, March 29, at the First Christian Church in Nebraska City at 10:30 a.m.
Because of Phillip’s lifelong love of dogs, in lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations be made in Phillip’s name to Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, or another local, “no kill” animal shelter.
