Bobbie Allen Mather, 85, of Sidney, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah.
Bobbie was born on January 6, 1934, in Tarkio, Mo.; the son of Asa Allen and Evelyn Nell (Hurley) Mather.
After graduating High School, he entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country. He was united in marriage to Twila Wadkins on April 4, 1958, in Bedford.
He worked hard as a carpenter in and around Sidney. He was also very active in the Sidney American Legion Post 128. He was a member for more than 60 years and served as Sergeant at Arms for some 17 years.
He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sidney.
He is survived by his son, Ken Mather and wife Sharla of Sidney; grandsons: Steven and wife Amy, Branden and wife Elisha, and Asa and wife Jessica; 9 great-grandchildren: Colby, Logan, Elizabeth, Mackenna, Jazelynn, Brexten, Faith, Levi, and Decker; brother Bill Mather and wife Cheryl of Greenfield; sisters-in-law: Christine Baker and husband Jack of Clarinda, and Lea Lininger and husband Gary of Branson, Mo.; numerous other family and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Twila on Jan. 21, 2005, and his three brothers: Wendall Mather, Gordon Mather, and David Mather.
A Memorial Service was to be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at United Faith in Sidney, with pastor Craig Eberly officiating. Military honors were to be conducted at the church following the service. Inurnment was to be held at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., at a later date.
