Dorothy M. Thompson, age 95 of Hamburg, passed away at the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney, on Thursday evening, Dec. 20, 2018.
Dorothy Maye (Driever) Thompson was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Hamburg; the daughter of Herman and Sally (Monroe) Driever.  She attended school in Hamburg and graduated from the Hamburg High School with the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Royal C. “Short” Thompson on April 8, 1944, in Sidney.  He preceded her in death on May 16, 2007.
Dorothy worked at Interstate Nurseries and Vogel Popcorn Company.  
She also worked for many years as an Operator at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Hamburg.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two sons:  Mick Thompson and wife Anna of Tabor and Randy Thompson and wife Cheryl of Hamburg; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; other family and many friends.
In addition to her husband “Short”, she was preceded in death by a brother as well as her parents.
Graveside Funeral Services were held Monday (Dec. 24, 2018) at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery southeast of Hamburg.  Pastor Jan Phillips officiated at the services and burial will follow.
