Scott A. “Shoey” Shoemaker, age 48, of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at his home.
He was born on March 30, 1970, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City; the son of Ronald J. and Betty L. (Goodman) Shoemaker.  
He attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the class of 1988.  
He then attended Milford Trade School and graduated with an electrical/mechanical degree.   He later received his degree from Southeast Community College in Tool & Die.
Most recently, Shoey was the Superintendent at the Nebraska City Waste Water Treatment Plant where he had worked for some 11 years. He also had worked at the Lied Center in Maintenance, for Electric Motor Shops in Lincoln and he owned and operated his own electric motor business.
He was baptized and confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City and was a member of the Eagles.  
He enjoyed NASCAR and attended many races.  He also enjoyed, fishing, working on motors and simply visiting with people.
He is survived by his parents Ron and Betty Shoemaker; a brother Robert Shoemaker and wife Susan and niece Lauren Shoemaker all of Nebraska City; an uncle Jerry Bethel of Plattsmouth; cousins:  Jerry Lynn Bethel of Plattsmouth and Karen Carnes and husband Tracy of Glenwood; great uncles, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and aunts:  Shirley Hodges, Bonnie Bethel and Bonnie Goodman.
Memorial Services were to be held Friday (8/17) at 10:30 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City with Pastor Randy Rasmussen.  Inurnment was to be in Wyuka Cemetery.
The family was to greet friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gude Mortuary.
A Memorial Fund is being established in his memory. Condolences may be left at Gude Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
