Mary Kathryn “Kate” Crain, 90, Hamburg, passed on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Morton Place in Nebraska City.
She was born July 8, 1927 in Hamburg, IA; the daughter of Charles D. and Mabel Marie (Moore) Butler.  She attended school and graduated from the Hamburg High School in 1945.
Kate married Richard Faye “Dick” Crain on July 30, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kan., and to this union two daughters were born:  Susan and Becky.  
She was a loving mother and wife and helped manage the family farm.  
Kate was a very active member of the Hamburg Community.  
She was a 60 year member of the P.E.O. Chapter D.I., a member of United Trinity Church, a Choir Member at the former Presbyterian Church in Hamburg and the Empyreans.  She enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of the Town & Country Bridge Club and was a very talented seamstress.
She is survived by daughters Susan England (Jim) - Hamburg and Becky Duncan (Dick) - Hamburg; 3 grandchildren:  Randy Duncan  (Wendy), Erika Haning (Jeff), and Jacque Beam (Mike) - all of Hamburg; 7 great-grandchildren:  Tyler Beam, Josh Haning, Bryson Duncan, Emma Haning, Maddy Duncan, Kyle Beam, and Addy Haning; nieces:  Anne Eichenholz (Richard);  Occidental, Calif.; and Debra Fisher - New Port Beach, Calif.; nephew Dr. Scott Greenwood (Pam) - Orlando, Fla.; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dick on May 28, 1992; her parents; and sisters and brothers-in- law:  Corinne and Homer Greenwood and Betty Jo and Art Vogel.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, at the United Trinity Church in Hamburg.  
Burial will follow at the Hamburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Hamburg Public Library or the United Trinity Church in Hamburg.
