Bruce Joseph Hassler, 60 of Unadilla, passed away Sept. 26, 2017 at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1957, in Friend to Joseph and Lela Ann (Becker) Hassler and grew up in Exeter.
Bruce married Karen Brandt on July 10, 1982, in Unadilla.
He worked at Countryside Bank as the Vice President/Cashier for 27 years.
He was an avid golfer, loyal Cleveland Indian fan, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
His biggest joy was spending time with his "grands", Leo and Ellie.
He is survived by his wife: Karen Hassler of Unadilla; son: Joseph (Erin) Hassler of Omaha; Daughter: Hannah (Justin) Walden of Denver, Colo.; Grandchildren: Leo Joseph Hassler and Elliot Rose Hassler of Omaha; Siblings: Leslye (Gordy) Bryant of Tekamah, Paul (Michelle) Hassler of Lincoln, Darin (Janna) Hassler of Lincoln; Mother-in-law: Rose Marie Brandt of Unadilla; Brother-in-law: Bob (Barb) Brandt of Unadilla; Sisters-in-law: Joan (Merl) Harder of Carter Lake, Iowa, Jane (John) Weber of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven nieces and four nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Neil Hassler; infant siblings: Michael and Mary Beth Hassler; father-in-law: William Brandt.
Funeral Mass was to be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. Burial was to be held at the Unadilla cemetery.
Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the family’s choice.
Visitation was to be Friday, Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home, then at church starting at 5:30 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Arrangements are by Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse. Condolences to www.fussel
