Carl J. Orndorff, age 80, of Nebraska City died July 15, 2017, at CHI St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln.  
Carl was born July 16, 1936 in Lamar, Mo., the son of Joseph and Mary (Huber) Orndorff.  
Carl graduated from Nehawka High School in 1954 and moved to Nebraska City following graduation.  
He married Marleen K. Meyer June 15, 1958 in Nebraska City and they resided in Nebraska City for many years.  
Carl and Marleen moved to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, for a couple of years before returning to Nebraska City in 1983.  
He worked at Morton House Kitchens and American Meter prior to his retirement.  
Carl was a member of Aerie No. 968, F.O.E. and was a 75-year member of the First United Methodist Church.  Carl was very handy at fabricating and fixing things.  
He also loved gardening, sports and spending time with family.  
Survivors include his wife Marleen Orndorff; son, Howard Orndorff and wife Deb all of Nebraska City; daughter, Lorinda Wright and husband David of Percival, Iowa;  grandchildren, Dallas, Lexi and Amanda Orndorff, Jimmy Cook and wife Lindsay, Danny Cook, Tanya Sharp and husband Mike, Brad Wright and wife Lesley, Clint Wright and wife Glenda; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Robert Orndorff and wife Lila of Chickasha, Okla.; sister in law, Sharon Meyer of Nebraska City; brother in law Russ Meyer and wife Amy of Omaha; numerous nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Doug Orndorff and brother in law, Ken Meyer.
Funeral services were to be 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with burial in Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
Visitations were to be 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church 2017 Building Fund.
