Steven Eugene Hervey, age 57 of Cook, formerly of Nebraska City died Dec. 3, 2016, at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh.  
Steve was born May 3, 1959, in Nebraska City, the son of Gene Ellsworth and Anita Mae (Cox) Hervey.  
He married Theresa Ann Rauth Dec. 5, 1980, in Nebraska City.  
Steve formerly worked at American Meter and more recently had been working for Bottcher Agriculture in Talmage.  
He formerly lived in Collinsville, Ill., and Nebraska City before moving to Cook in 2002.  
Steve loved farming, hunting, fishing, laughing with family and friends and was a former member of the Nebraska City Fire Department.  
Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Cook; son, Steven R. Hervey and wife Smitha of Omaha; daughter, Cassie Steen and husband Tony of Lincoln; mother and step father, Anita and Bill Lowe of Belleville, Ill.; sisters, Marsha Althardt and husband Earl of Caseyville, Ill.; Mona Smith and husband David of Collinsville, Ill.; 6 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, uncles and aunts.
Funeral services were to be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitations will be 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
