William G. “Jerry” Beecham, 76, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born June 17, 1942, to Bill and Marie (Spratt) Beecham. Jerry was the oldest of nine children.
He grew up on the Beecham family farm near Palmyra and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1960.
Jerry was a “people person” who spent his life selling everything from insurance to real estate to Toyotas.
Jerry had a gift for woodworking, was an avid fan of auto racing, and—most of all—he enjoyed cheering on the Huskers.
Jerry will be remembered for his warm personality, big bear hugs, and delicious family dinners served with love.
Jerry is survived by his longtime love, Karen Aspegren; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Cathy Beecham of Bellingham, Wash.; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Kyle Rupp of Lincoln, and Shannon and Ryan Rosauer of Junction City, Kansas; Karen’s children Eric and Lisa Aspegren, Julie and Matt Eisenhauer, and Jill and Tony Suarez; grandchildren Katie Beecham, Jenna Beecham, Tabitha Rupp, Abigail Rosauer, David Rosauer; Karen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marie Beecham; brothers Timothy Beech-am, John Beecham, and Pat Beecham; sister-in-law Laura Beecham; brothers-in-law Bob Hepburn and Paul LeBlanc; nieces Sarah Skean and Amy Beecham.
Jerry’s wish was to have a celebration of his life at the family farmstead where generations of Beecham family and friends have gathered for holidays, birthdays, and fellowship.
