Iowa Congressman David Young today announced the schedule of his annual Coffee With My Congressman Town Hall Meetings, continuing his commitment to hold a town hall in every county, every year. Coffee with my Congressman town halls allow a number of residents to engage the Congressman on the issues being debated in Congress.
"When I came to Congress, I promised to roll up my sleeves and get to work for my bosses, the people of the Third Congressional District of Iowa, and to carry their voice to the halls of Congress. The most important part of my job is listening to the people who speak with me back at home about the issues important to them," said Congressman Young. "That is why I visit every county, every month and hold a town hall in every county, every year."
According to Young's office, the congressman has been recognized by the non-partisan website LegiStorm as a leader in Congress when it comes to offering public forums for his constituents - ranking 6th of all 535 members of the U.S. House and Senate in the number of public forums held in 2017.
The Fremont County coffee is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Riverton Community Center, 803 Summer Ave.
Young will also host coffees in surrounding counties:
Montgomery County: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Montgomery County History Center, 2700 N. 4th St., Red Oak.
Page County: 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Shenandoah Safety Center, 400 W. Sheridan St.
