Last week, C US Bank challenged the community to make donations to earthquake victims in Haiti. If the donation total reached over $1,063 by the end of the business day Thursday, Jan. 28, Bank President J. Scott Thomson and fellow  bank branch employees Dennis Hovden of Ridgeway, Duane Johnson of Lime Springs and Charley Perry of Charles City would wear high heels to work on Friday, Jan. 29.
Indeed, the foursome did wear heels to work that day, with a grand donation total, so far, of over $3,100 from the community in addition to the bank’s donation of $1,000–over $4,100 was raised as of Monday, Feb. 1.     C US Bank will still be accepting donations through Friday, Feb. 5.
“We have a lot of empathy for people in Haiti. None of us are too big that we can’t laugh at ourselves for a good cause,” said Thomson, who also commended Katie Ferrie, C US Bank Marketing Director, for dreaming up the fundraising idea.
