On January 6, 2010, a long awaited day arrived at last. The students of Notre Dame School in Cresco walked into their new school addition for the beginning of the second semester of the school year. There was incredible excitement, big smiles, clapping and even cheers. Rev. Richard J. Ament, Pastor of Notre Dame Parish, led the staff and students in a blessing of the new facility.
Many local businesses and tradesmen worked on the project, creating a beautiful facility with craftsmanship that is outstanding, according to people involved in the designing and construction industries.
Officials at Notre Dame say parishioners are to be commended for their tremendous support of a capital campaign that has provided a new church addition with a handicapped accessible entrance space and elevator, and for the addition to the school. The community of Cresco has also been tremendously supportive of this project.
