Hamburg teams open Corner Conference at home

The Hamburg girls' and boys' basketball teams will be at home to open Corner Conference tournament play on Saturday.

Hamburg, seeded No. 7 on the girls' side, will take on No. 10 Clarinda Academy at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Second round action of the girls' tournament will be Monday, with the Clarinda Academy-Hamburg winner traveling to Essex to take on No. 2 Essex at 7:45 p.m.

Other top seeds on the girls' side of the bracket are Stanton, No.1; Sidney, No. 3; and Farragut, No. 4.

The Hamburg boys' are seeded No. 8 and will host Essex in the first round of the tourney at 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

Second round action of the boys' tournament is set for Tuesday, with the Hamburg-Essex winner traveling to Fremont-Mills to take on No. 1 seed Clarinda Academy at 6:15 p.m.

Other top seeds in the boys' tournament are Sidney, No. 2; East Mills, No. 3; and Stanton, No. 4.
