The Sidney Cowgirls added another win to the resume after a 3-0 sweep over the East Mills Wolverines on Tuesday, September 18.

Sidney won; 25-16; 25-13; 25-19


The Wolverines were 14-2 and had a top 10 ranking in Class 1A heading into this contest.


Sidney had three girls reach double-digit kills.  Camryn McClintock came away with 13 kills; Kelsey Hobbie, 12; Makenna Jarosz, 10.


Sophomore Maddy Duncan, added seven kills; Jaden Daffer, one.


Olivia Larsen led in assists with 39 and contributed three kills.


The Sidney Cowgirls are 21-2 on the season, and are no stranger when facing tough competition.


Earlier this season the Cowgirls defeated the Johnson-Brock Eagles who were three time state champions in Nebraska.  The Eagles went on a 12 game winning streak after the Cowgirls loss and are currently 12-2 this year.


Sidney’s two losses have come from Class 4-A teams (Pella and Bondurant-Farrar).

August, 28 was the last time Sidney suffered a loss, and are currently on a 19-game win streak.  In those 19 games, the Cowgirls have won 43 sets and lost 6.


Sidney will be in tournament action on Saturday, September 22, at Fremont-Mills.
