For the first time in at least eight years, the Peru State athletic department's teams produced a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0 for its eight competitive teams. It is believed that this may have been actually the first time that this has occurred, but actual records are sketchy for years prior to 2010-11.

After all of the final grades had been posted and calculated following the 2017-18 academic year, the Bobcat teams had a cumulative grade point average (gpa) of 3.087. All student-athletes on each team's eligibility list were included to determine the final calculation. There were 206 student-athletes who were on eligibility sheets in the calculations.

Six of the teams will be recognized later by the NAIA as Scholar Teams as they met the minimum 3.0 grade average. The women's golf team had the highest team gpa of 3.777 while the volleyball team was just behind with a 3.736. This was fifth year in a row that the Bobcat golfers had the highest team grade point average.
