The Sidney Cowgirls softball team are rolling, and have out-scored it’s last three opponents by a total score of 44-9. On Monday, Sidney defeated Essex 12-2, as Olivia Larsen went 4-for-5 at the plate with a run scored on June 4, at Essex.

Sidney jumped out early when Larsen hit a triple.  Danica Laumann drilled a double and Sidney took a 1-0 lead. Camryn McClintock came to the plate a drove in Laumann with a solid double.


In th second inning, the Cowgirls added four more runs thanks to an RBI single by Presley Brumbaugh and a two RBI double from Jolie Sheldon.


Sidnie Baier knocked in Liz Lang with a single in the third inning and Laumann got her second RBI on the night with a single that brought home Sheldon.


Larsen got the win for the Cowgirls.
Larsen allowed two runs, on six hits, and struck out five.


Hitting: Laumann, single, double; Sheldon, two singles; Baier, two singles; McClintock, double; Jayden Smith and Brumbaugh, each with a single.
RBI: Sheldon, Laumann, two each; McClintock, Baier, and Brumbaugh, one each.

Coach Kent Larsen was happy with his teams performance, especially, on the defensive side as the Cowgirls did not commit one error.

Sidney 15 Woodbine 5
Sidney won it’s third straight game against Woodbine, 15-5, behind Camryn McClintock’s arm.  McClintock allowed two earned runs, on four hits, in six innings of work while striking out three on Tuesday, June 5, at Sidney.


Woodbine took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Sidney answered back with five runs of it’s own.


Sidney scored consistently throughout this contest.  In six innings of play, there was only one time the Cowgirls did not score.


Olivia Larsen was 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBI.

Sidney is now 8-3 on the season.
