Adam Thompson and Maddy Duncan came away with state medals for the Sidney Cowboys and Cowgirls. Duncan set a school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.71 and a sixth place state finish while Thompson had a career best in the 3200 meter run and a time of 10:11 that pushed him into seventh place at Drake University on May, 17-19.

There were athletes for Sidney that had personal best during the state event.


Duncan ran her personal best in the 200 as she crossed the finish line in 27.18


In the 1600 meter, Thompson ran his season best as he ended the race in 4:48.


Jaden Daffer ran the 100 meter hurdles in 16.69.


Noah Jorgenson, Jaden Sears, Mister McNaughton, and Cody Hankins ran off their season best in the 4x800, but had a few season best splits.


The Cowgirls ran it’s seasons best in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:23.  Runners included; Maddy Duncan, Jaden Daffer, Savannah Hall, and Caitlyn Ward.


“It was a good meet for our kids. Earned a few medals and many season best performances,” Coach Donnie Sears said.
