Noah Jorgenson scored 13 points and pulled in seven rebounds in the Cowboys semifinal game of the Corner Conference Tournament against Fremont-Mills as Sidney won 41-28, on Thursday night, Jan. 18, at the Stanton High School.
“Defensively we played well,” Head Coach Kent Larsen said.  “The kids understood who we needed to key on and who we could leave open.”
Sidney did a great job keeping the Knights off the boards as the Cowboys gave up four offensive rebounds.
On the offensive side, Coach Larsen said the Cowboys struggled, but after getting the ball inside a few times, Sidney was able to get some easy baskets underneath.
Noah Jorgenson carried the Cowboys in the first half as he scored 10 points while Brock Shirley scored 11 points in the second half.
Coach Larsen said that Cameron Whitehead got the crowd going when he dove for a loose ball that eventually lead to a three point score.
Noted scorers for Sidney were Jorgenson, 13; Shirley, 12; Whitehead, six; Cody Dupre and Brady Lorimor, five each.
The leading rebounder was Whitehead with 12 and Dupre had four assists.

Stanton 73, Sidney 66
In the Corner Conference Championship game, Sidney and Stanton went back forth as Cameron Whitehead scored 22 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in the Cowboys loss which resulted in a second place finish at East Mills on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Free throws were a difference maker in this contest as Stanton was 27-of-31 from the stripe while Sidney was 6-of-14.
Brady Lorimor scored 18 points in the loss and shot 73 percent from the field.  Other noted scorers for the Cowboys were Zayne Osborn, nine; Cody Dupre, seven; Noah Jorgenson, four; Brock Shirley and Caleb Behrends, three each.
