Eagles Fly past Bobcat Women

It was a tale of two different halves. The Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women’s basketball team won the first half. However, the Central Methodist University (CMU) Eagles won the second half more decisively and captured a 74-59 win over the visiting Bobcats.

Bobcat Men Give MNU a Big Scare

For the first part of the game, it appeared the NAIA DI 22nd-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) Pioneers thought they were going to come to Peru and walk away with an easy win.

Defense carries Nishnabotna boys

Defense carried the day for the Nishnabotna Blue Devil boys’ basketball team Thursday night in a 44-33 home win over Craig-Fairfax.

CFX hangs close, but Devils prevail

Give Craig-Fairfax credit.
Nishnabotna controlled the action, but the visitors from Missouri hung in there and stayed within striking distance.
The Blue Devils led 11-4 after the first quarter, 26-19 after two and 40-31 as the game entered its final period.
In the end, Nishnabotna held on and claimed a 50-44 win.

Area Youth Participate in Cheerleading Camp

There were many additional people chanting “Go Big Blue” on Saturday at Peru State College (PSC). Some of the voices were loud and strong, but some were a little less strong as they came from area youth participating in the Bobcat Youth Cheer Camp. However, they were every bit as enthusiastic!

Bobcat Men Drop Contest to Evangel

The Evangel University Crusaders came to Peru State College (PSC) mad after a big loss to MidAmerica Nazarene University on Thursday night and took it out on the Bobcats.

Bobcat Women Capture Second Straight

After leading by as many as 13 late in the game, the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women’s basketball team held on for their second straight win over the visiting Evangel University Crusaders 61-59 on the PSC campus.
With the win, the Bobcats improve to 2-19 overall and 2-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC). Evangel falls to 7-11 and 5-4 in the HAAC.

Graceland Tops Bobcat Men 88-71

The Bobcat men had a goal of keeping the Heart of America Athletic Conference’s (HAAC) top scorer in check and they did that. However, the Graceland University (GU) YellowJackets ended up with four players scoring in double figures, which proved too much for the Bobcats as GU won 88-71 in Lamoni, Iowa.

Bobcat Women Grab First Win

When most everything clicks for any team, good things happen. That was the case for the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women’s basketball team as they put together a good game and defeated the home team, Graceland University (GU) YellowJackets 80-50.

Schaardt to serve as Captain of Bobcat Golf Team

There will be something new this spring with the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat golf team. Bobcat golf head coach Brett Hahn decided after his first semester as the head coach that he needed a captain and that Jordan Schaardt (Humboldt) would be perfect for the role.

Home Run Club Banquet Set for Feb. 3

The 2012 college baseball season is around the corner and the Husker Home Run Club is hosting its annual preseason banquet on Friday, Feb. 3. For the second straight year the event will take place at the Embassy Suites in La Vista, located just off Interstate 80 at Exit 442.

If you come to the Peru State College (PSC) basketball games on Thursday, Jan. 26, and you see the coaches wearing sneakers instead of dress shoes, do not be alarmed. The Bobcat coaches will be participating in the ninth annual “Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Weekend.”

2011 Peru State Football Players Recognized and Honored

The Peru State College Football Booster Club continued an annual tradition on Sunday, Jan. 15, by hosting a banquet to recognize the efforts of the Bobcat football team, coaches, and auxiliary personnel. The event, which included a buffet dinner, took place in the College’s Student Center and was attended by nearly 250 student-athletes, staff, family, and friends.

Bobcat Men’s Valiant Effort Falls Four Points Short

When it looked like the Bobcat men could secure their first win in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC), the Avila University Eagles snatched it away winning 51-47.

Good Effort by Bobcat Women Falls Short

After playing probably what was one of their best games of the year, the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women’s basketball team is still looking for that elusive first win. The visiting Avila University Eagles defeated the Bobcats 88-71 in a game that was much closer than the final score would indicate.

Benedictine Men Pull Away From Bobcats in Second Half

The Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat men’s basketball team kept it close for the first half, but the Benedictine College (BC) Ravens ended up pulling away in the second half grabbing a 76-61 win.

Benedictine Women Top Peru State

A hot shooting Benedictine College (BC) Raven women’s basketball team stretched their first half lead to 12 and then took over in the second half to dominate the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcats. The Ravens topped the ‘Cats 84-56 in Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) action in the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium on the Benedictine campus in Atchison, Kan.

Courtney Ward – Bobcat December Athlete of the Month

Courtney Ward (Bartlesville, Okla.) was selected as the Peru State College (PSC) “Bobcat Athlete of the Month” for December. PSC Athletic Director Steve Schneider announced the honor and also noted that no male was selected for the month.
