Carl R. “Butch” Pierson, 66, of Otoe, Neb., formerly of Hamburg, died July 8, 2010 in Hamburg. He was born Feb.  25, 1944 in Hamburg to Carl I. and Doris A. (Bennett) Pierson.

    After his wife Barbara’s death in 1983, he married Mary Ann Bogenrief andshe preceded him in death in 2004.

    Butch grew up in the Hamburg area, but had lived in Otoe for many
years.  Prior to moving to Otoe, he lived in Nehawka, Neb.  He worked at the Martin Marietta Aggregates in Weeping Water, Neb., for 35 years.

    He is survived by his mother, Doris Pierson of Hamburg; siblings
Judith Ann Bennett of Hazel Green, Ala., Terry Pierson of Hamburg,
Wauneta Sue Winkler of Hamburg, Carolyn Jean Poiriee of Cloquet, Minn., and Janice Kay Martin of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and other family and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his wives, Barbara and Mary Ann, and his father, Carl in 1988.

    Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 12, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in rural Hamburg with Pastors Gail and Donna Woods officiating; burial will follow the services.

    Visitation is Sunday from 2-7 p.m. at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg.
