Dale E. Aspedon, 49, of Glenwood, formerly of Hamburg, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 near Little Sioux, Iowa. He was born on March 31, 1961 at Hamburg, the son of Larry D. and Patsy A. (Gardner) Aspedon. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1979. Shortly after his graduation, he entered the Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1986.
He married Cathryn Diane Zanker on Feb. 23, 1991 at the Methodist Church in Hamburg. He worked for A.D.T. Security Systems for several years. He was a member of the Glenwood American Legion and the Glenwood Fraternal Order of Eagles. He volunteered as a soccer coach and Pony League softball coach.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Zanker Aspedon of Glenwood; daughters Charlsie and Autumn of the home and Tonya Matson of Mt. Pleasant; parents Larry and Pat Aspedon of Hamburg; brother Dan Aspedon and wife Nicky of Killeen, Texas; other family and many friends.
He was preceded by a brother, Dean Aspedon, on Oct. 7, 1967.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at the United Trinity Church in Hamburg. Immediately following the services, military honors will be conducted by the Hamburg American Legion.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Riverton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Great Western Bank in both Glenwood and Hamburg.
