Cindy S. Axtell, 51, of Nebraska City, died on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her home. Cindy Sue was born on Nov.  27, 1958 in Nebraska City to Percy Bishop and Clara “Peggy” Alice (McConaha) Horner.   
She worked at Pizza Hut for many years as a cook.

She is survived by her children April D. Axtell of Nebraska City and Justin B. Axtell of Grandview, Mo.; two grandchildren, Raven Axtell and Peyton Axtell; her life partner, Mike Shores, of Nebraska City; her mother, Peggy Horner, of Nebraska City; siblings Eddie Hershey and wife Janice of Lincoln, Barb Penezic and husband John and Alice Haselwood and husband Eddy, all of Pueblo West, Colo., Hope Arthur and husband Terry of Canon City, Colo., Earl Hershey and wife Gerry of Newport News, Va., Pat Rumery and husband David of Talmage, Sherry Bright and husband Billy of Hamburg, and Rocky Horner and wife Teresa, Sandy Cooper and husband Kennis and Robyn Ferguson and husband Kenny, all of Nebraska City; ex-husband and friend Robert Axtell of Nebraska City; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Cindy was preceded by her father, Percy B. Horner, brother Jamie A. Horner, and grandparents William Horner and Dovie Fivecoats Horner and Earl and Arlie McConaha.

No public services will be held.
