Helen Elaine (Brookshier) Fisher, 85, died July 10, 2010 at the Ambassador in Sidney. She was born on Oct. 2, 1924 at Hamburg to Morris Fox and Lula Mabel (Bennett) Brookshier.

She graduated from  Hamburg High School in 1942. She married Glenn Eldon Fisher on Dec. 5, 1943 at Hamburg.

She worked at the former Interstate Nurseries in Hamburg then for John Field at the Hamburg Reporter for 54 years as general manager.  She was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Hamburg and the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Phillips and husband Carl of Malvern; granddaughters Leslie Alley and husband Greg of Hamburg and Andrea Gibilisco and husband Steve of rural Hamburg; great-grandsons Bryce Alley and Brogan Alley; brother Charles Brookshier and wife Rosalie of St. Charles, Mo.; one niece and three nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Glenn, on Jan. 2, 1989; brother-in-law Clyde Fisher and his wife Hazelle.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13,  at the First United Methodist Church in Hamburg; burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Rural Hamburg.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Hamburg.
