Nadine M. Frakes, 75, of Nebraska City died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at her home. She was born on Aug. 20, 1934 in Nebraska City, the daughter of George C. and Harriet Naomi (Lord) Frakes. Nadine graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1951 and then attended Doane College in Crete.

Nadine was a long-time employee, owner and officer at Farmers Banks in Nebraska City. She began her employment with the bank in 1955 and retired in 1999 after 44 years of faithful service. Following her retirement, she continued to serve on the Board of Directors for the bank until her health declined.

She was a member of Cornerstone Church, the National Association of Banking Women where she was chosen as Woman of the Year, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the Wildwood Board and the Nebraska City Alumni Association.

She is survived by her sister, Chris Jordan, and husband Jerry of Bellevue; niece Angie Carvell and husband Josh and their children Victoria Christine and Alexandria Michele; nephew Brandon Jordan and his children Alexis Michele, Cean Scott and Kaelan William; other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Rev. George Jacobs and Rev. Rob Connor officiating; burial will follow at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

The family will greet friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gude Mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Cornerstone Church in Nebraska City or Tabitha Hospice.
