Betty J. Lynn, 85, of Nebraska City, died Dec. 24, 2009 at Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City. Betty June Lucas (Harshbarger) Lynn, daughter of Norman and Elsie (Krecklow) Lucas, was born on June 16, 1924 in Falls City.

She graduated from high school in Falls City in 1942. She married Edward (Ed) Harshbarger on Oct. 12, 1945. She later married Robert Lynn on July 18, 1969.

She lived in the Nebraska City area most of her adult life, working for the Nebraska City News-Press and the ASCS Office in Syracuse. She attended the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City. Betty enjoyed reading, dancing and participating in the Nebraska City Saddle Club events.

She is survived by her brother-in-law Virgil Lynn and wife Virginia of Hamburg; aunts Lois Lynn of Hamburg and Mildred Bolton of West Plains, Mo.; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her daughter, Cheryl Arthur; and grandson Chuck Arthur.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

Memorials may be given to Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City.
