Rodney Leroy Light, 51, of St. James, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 as a result of a motorcycle accident near Jerome, Mo. He was born on July 16, 1958, son of Ronald Leroy and Marcella June (Jackson) Light. He married Kelly Clark at the Church of God in St. James, Mo., on July 16, 1981.
Rodney Light was a veteran. He attended Solid Rock Christian Church in St. James.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Light of St. James; daughter Kara Light of St. James; father Ronald Leroy Light and wife Bonnie of Hamburg; step-mother Darlene Light of Rolla, Mo.; three brothers, Roger Light of Fairfield, Iowa, Steve Light of Rolla, and Bill Light of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Juli James and Debbie Stephens, both of Columbia, Mo., and Linda Light of Rolla; nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded by his mother, Marcella June (Jackson) Light, and one brother, Craig Light.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James with Craig Rippy officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Lupus Foundation. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
