Marjorie L. Holt, 86, died July 27, 2018, at St Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Marge was born Marjorie Louise Seeba in Cook, on Nov. 6, 1931, to parents Herman & Louisa Seeba.
She lived in Cook until leaving for school to study at Peru State Teacher’s College where she completed her Bachelor’s degree before heading on to Colorado State in Greeley, Colo., to earn her Master’s degree.
Marge applied her newly earned teaching credentials first in Utica and then in Chappell, teaching for Deuel County Public Schools where she met Dennis.
Dennis and Marge were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, on Nov. 30, 1957, and moved to Lincoln, for a year so that Dennis could finish his graduate studies. Upon leaving Lincoln, they ventured north where they put down roots and started their family in Owatonna, Minn.
They were blessed with three daughters who joined them as they made their final move to Rochester, Minn., when Dennis joined the staff at the Mayo Clinic.
After settling the girls in school in Rochester, Marge began teaching at Rochester Community College where she would continue for twenty-four years.
Upon her retirement, she volunteered helping teach seniors on computers at the senior center and enjoyed many worldwide travels with Dennis until a change in their health prevented any further such adventures.
Marge was "Supermom," a gifted cook and baker, an avid gardener, a consummate list-maker and planner, a compassionate listener and so much more.
In addition to her family roles, Marge was also an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church’s women’s circle and congregation for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Herman & Louisa Seeba and siblings Mabel Stutheit and Harold Seeba.
She is survived by:  her loving husband, Dennis Holt; daughters, Deanne Nash, Charlene Pryor and Melinda Gelfman; son-in-laws Jim Nash, Chris Pryor and Russell Gelfman; granddaughter, Chloe Pryor; many friends and grateful students.
Marge’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the compassionate and extremely competent team of professionals at Saint Marys Hospital who cared for Marge during the final days of her life.
Friends and family are encouraged to attend a service celebrating Marge’s life on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minn.
