Geraldine Uhl (Raymond) Schweppe, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away March 9, 2018.
“Gerri” was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Daniel and Georgia (Uhl) Raymond.
She was the youngest of four children born into a proud military (Army) family.
Gerri grew up in Crawford, and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she met and married her beloved husband, Lou.
Gerri supported her husband’s work as a minister in the United Church of Christ and worked as an elementary and preschool teacher.
For the past 11 years, Gerri was a vibrant member of the Brookdale retirement community in Castleton, where she built many cherished relationships.
She was gifted in music and art and had a deep love of nature and her family.
Gerri is survived by her daughter, Susan Mairet (Doug); son, Fred Schweppe (Michele); grandchildren, Colin and Katie Mairet, Jessica Cates (David) and Sadie Schweppe; and great-grandson, Riley Cates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Schweppe.
Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. Sat. April 14, at the St. Paul’s UCC (Osage) Cemetery, rural Cook, with Rev. Ken West officiating.
