Loretta T. Sarraillon, caring wife, devoted mother, and selfless friend passed away Feb. 21, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Loretta was born Jan.  23, 1926, in Paul to Joseph and Olive Schmitz.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Frank Sarraillon, as well as; mother- Olive Schmitz; father- Joseph Schmitz; and two brothers- Alvin and Joseph Schmitz.
She was a faithful and loving wife to her husband Frank and a dedicated mother to their five children; Bill, Linda, Sharon, Chris, and Jolene.
On Feb. 11, 1947,  at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Loretta married Frank Sarraillon, whom she had met at a dance.
Loretta and Frank enjoyed living in the country and raising their five children together. She was committed to raising them in the Catholic faith and taught them all to never take anything for granted.
Loretta was a caretaker and farm wife for many years. She always enjoyed being outside and, in order to fulfill that passion, she also worked at Morton Orchard seasonally, then at Earl May Garden Center.
Loretta is survived by; son- Bill Sarraillon (Cindy);  daughters, Linda Simrell (Don); Sharon Shacklett (Walt); Chris Timothy (Phill); Jolene Lawlor (Dennis); sister- Bertha Lutz (Bill), sister-in-laws- Caroline Schmitz, Virginia Schmitz and Caroline Sarraillon. Survivors also include 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
The family greeted friends on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 5-6:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A rosary was recited in Loretta’s honor at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
A Mass of Catholic Burial was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by a burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery where she was laid to rest next to her husband, Frank.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Lourdes Central Catholic Schools.
Loretta’s strength, faith, candid personality, and love of God are an inspiration to all who knew her. She is loved beyond words and will be missed.
