Darlene A. (Heiser) Anderson, age 84, of Pine River, Minn., formerly Nebraska City, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Brookside Comfort Care in Pine River.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1933, in Nebraska City; the daughter of Elmer Louie and Janice Evelyn (Miller) Heiser.  
She attended school and graduated from the Dunbar High School, Dunbar with the class of 1951.  She then attended the Bishop Clarkson School of Nursing in Omaha where she earned her Registered Nurse (RN) designation.
Darlene was united in marriage to Clinton Robert Anderson on March 21, 1955, at Nebraska City and to this union two sons were born:  Jeff and Paul.
After graduating and earning her R.N., Darlene worked at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, and at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City.  After the children were born, Darlene assumed the role of housewife and homemaker and also served as the bookkeeper for Anderson Aviation.  After the boys were raised, she returned to nursing and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and later Golden Living Center.
She is survived by her sons: Jeff Anderson and fiance Janie Hope of Pine River, Paul Anderson and wife Daisy of Brasilia, Brazil; granddaughter Priscilla Anderson of St. Peter, Minn.; a sister in law Marie (Romans) Doedyns of Manhattan, Kan.; other extended family and friends.
 She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 26, 1992, as well as her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, (2/14) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.  Burial will follow the services at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka.
The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday (2/13) at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
