Robert E. “Bobb” James IV, age 67 of Nebraska City died Jan. 4, 2018, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.  
Bobb was born March 4, 1950, in Nebraska City, the son of Robert Ernest James III and Mary (Cottingham) James.  
He married Judy Johnson Dec. 28, 1968, in Nebraska City.  
Bobb formerly lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but lived in the Nebraska City area most of his life.  
He worked as an independent contractor, doing property inspections.  Bobb formerly owned and operated Woerner Oil Company north of Nebraska City and loved Corvettes, especially his 1977 Corvette.  
He liked spending time with family and friends and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Judy of Nebraska City; daughter Jenny James of Waverly; brothers, Tom James and wife Penny of Papillion and Joe James and wife Pat of Lincoln; brothers in law, Jerry Johnson and wife Debbie of Nebraska City, Jim Johnson and wife Mary of Union, Joy Johnson and wife Teresa of Nebraska City; father in law, Harold Johnson of Union; many other relatives and friends.  
Bobb was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitations will be 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 4 to 6 p.m.  There will be no viewing.
A celebration of Bobb’s life is being planned in the spring and will be announced at that time.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
