Lloyd J. Sebek, age 90, of Hamburg, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at the Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg.
Lloyd was born on Sept. 25, 1927, in Atchison County, Mo.; the son of Lou and Caroline (Goracke) Sebek.  He attended school and graduated from Hamburg High School with the class of 1944.  
He entered the United States Army in January of 1946 and proudly served his country during WWII.  
He was honorably discharged in July of 1947 as a Corporal..
Lloyd was united in marriage to Lois Elaine Dankof on Aug. 6, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg, and to this union three children were born:  Cheryl, Linda and Kenneth.  
After returning from the Army, he began farming, which he continued until his retirement in 2006.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg where he served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister.  Lloyd was a member of Farm Bureau and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years.
 Those left to cherish his memory include his children:  Cheryl Owen and husband Jim of Hamburg; Linda Ferris of Kearney, Mo.; and Kenneth Sebek and wife Roxanne of Hamburg; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law:  Lowell Dankof and wife Dorothy of Omaha, Nebr.; Duane Dankof and wife Diana of Nebraska City and Dale Dankof of Shenandoah, Iowa; niece Denese Kimpston and husband Bill of Rock Port, Mo., other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Sebek on June 21, 2015; his parents; brother Charles Sebek and his wife Ruth and a nephew Gary Sebek.
 A Funeral Mass was to be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hamburg.  
Burial was to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, southeast of Hamburg with military honors conducted by the Hamburg American Legion Post.
A Rosary Recitation was to be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg followed by the family greeting friends until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Hamburg Rescue Squad or the Grape Community Hospital.
