Students and teachers were evacuated from Fremont-Mills Tuesday afternoon following a bomb threat. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Department and the Tabor Police Department responded to the threat at 2:35 p.m.
Students and teachers were evacuated to safe locations away from the main building as a team of 10, including law enforcement and school personnel conducted an organized and thorough search of the building. Student lockers, classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms and all support areas were searched.
Nothing was found and Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope gave the all clear at approximately 3:35 p.m. and students and staff were allowed to return to the building.
Bus routes ran approximately 20 minutes behind schedule as the evacuation delayed the close of school.
Law enforcement and school personnel are continuing to investigate the incident. Any information may be passed along to the Fremont-Mills School administration, Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope or Tabor Police Chief Mike Wake.
