The glow of hot air balloons will be a new highlight of the Popcorn Day proceedings at Hamburg on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8.
Balloonists Ralph and Donna Riech and Jimmy and Cheryl Gebhert are planning on bringing at least four hot air balloons to Hamburg for Friday night and Saturday morning.
The balloons will land at the baseball field in Hamburg on Friday for a ballon glow event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Concessions will be made available by the Hamburg Hometown Pride group for a nominal cost and attendees will be encouraged to walk around the ballfield, see the balloons up close and visit with the balloonists.
There will also be a chance for a hot air balloon ride.
Businesses which sponsor the event in excess of $100 will be entered into a drawing with the winner to be given two tickets for a ride in one of the balloons.
Individuals can also get in on the action. Raffle tickets are being sold for $20 each. Tickets can be purchased from any Hometown Pride member or from the Hamburg City Hall.
The winner of the raffle will get two tickets for a ride in the hot air balloon.
Please note that some restrictions and rules apply to the rides and that refunds of raffle tickets will not be given in the event that a ride is not possible due to rules or logistics, including weather considerations.
Lift off for the rides will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
