Fremont County ISU Extension and Outreach is excited to bring the Bill Riley Talent Search Qualifier to Sidney as part of its Centennial celebration taking place June 9-10!
The mission of the Bill Riley Talent Search is to serve as a developmental platform for young Iowans involved in the performing arts.
By maintaining a nurturing and educational environment, it aims to promote self-esteem, self-discipline and self-confidence while helping youth achieve their goals and shoot for the stars, one performance at a time!
The Sidney qualifier will be held Saturday, June 9 at 6 pm at the Main Stage on the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Sidney.  Admission is free and everyone is invited to come to the show!  The Fremont County Cattlemen will be there serving hamburgers and all-beef hotdogs with chips and a drink for a free-will donation!
Contestants must be legal residents of Iowa and between the ages of 2 and 21.  Acts may consist of anything related to performing arts such as vocal, instrumental and dance performances.  There will be two age categories:  Sprouts are ages 2-12, Seniors are ages 13-21.

Contestants must pre-register by Tuesday, June 5 by emailing the following information to mmaher@iastate.edu:  name, address, email address, preferred phone number, date of birth, division (sprout or senior), type of talent (vocal, dance, instrumental or other), song title, and equipment needed for the act.  
If the act is made up of 2-4 people, the names, dates of birth and towns of the members must be provided.  Entry forms can be downloaded at www.extension.iastate.edu/fremont.
The top act in each age category will advance to the Iowa State Fair!  Cash prizes will be awarded in both age categories!
 First place winners will receive $40 and a subscription the Valley News or Argus-Herald; second place will receive $20; and third place will receive $10.
This Bill Riley Talent Search qualifier is made possible through donations from Doug Aistrope of Farm Bureau Financial Services, Arbor Bank of Sidney, Valley News Today of Shenandoah, The Sidney Argus-Herald, and Fremont County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.  Additional sponsors will be announced at the show.
