The Washington PEP 4-H Club will be “trick or treating” in Hamburg this Sunday, Oct. 15, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Approximately 20 club members in 4-H T-shirts will be walking house to house in groups of four, collecting donations for the local food bank.
Club members will also be at the St. Mary's Catholic Church parking lot if people would like to drop something off for the food bank.
The Washington PEP 4-H Club's membership involves children and young adults from kindergarten through 12th grade in individual and group citizenship projects throughout the year. The club has chosen to help the food bank as it prepares for the winter months, and as supplies are currently running low.
The food bank can use donations of canned tuna and chicken, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soup, Hamburger, Chicken, and Tuna Helper, brown and white rice, regular and sensitive-skin laundry detergent, dish soap, fabric sheets and fabric softener, juice, and baking items like cake, muffin, and biscuit mixes, etc.
Families can also choose to donate a complete meal package, for example, spaghetti, sauce, and veggies.
