 Video>>>  A house fire in Hamburg Tuesday night resulted in an estimated $50,000 in damage.  Murl Dovel’s rental property at 1501 Park Street caught fire around 9:30.  Kim and Chris Copeland are renting the property.  There were no injuries.
   By the time fire crews arrived, flames had reached the attic above the kitchen.  The majority of the damage to the house was heat and water damage in the kitchen, attic and porch.  Some belongings were salvaged.
Hamburg Fire Chief Dan Sturm reported that the source of the fire was a shorted out electrical box on the porch outside the kitchen. 

  Video>>> Over two inches of rain fell on Nebraska City over the Fourth of July weekend, but only a few drops landed before the Jaycees’ annual fireworks show.
   “It was fortuitous that we had it on Saturday night,” said Jaycee volunteer Daryll Steinman.
   Scattered rain clouds passed over Steinhart Park, but only a few sprinkles fell.
