Fremont County Supervisors approved the purchase of a 2010 Dodge 1500 pickup for County Engineer Dan Davis at their Aug. 10 meeting. The truck will cost $27,039 and will be purchased at Performance Dodge.
Davis had returned a new Ford pickup to Woodhouse Ford after the supervisors said he bought the truck without proper permission. The truck cost $30,950.
The price of the white Dodge pickup was the lowest of the quotes received. The board had requested that the truck be white to match other vehicles in the department.
In other action, the board approved Sheriff Kevin Aistrope’s request to hire Brandy Dresher as a part-time dispatcher to replace an employee who Aistrope said was recently “let go.”
The board approved a Work in Right of Way permit for Adesta, LLC for underground construction of fiber optic cable from Grape Community Hospital to Sidney Community High School. Davis said the cable will be used for a health communication program.
On Aug. 3, the board approved a contract with O’Neil Electric for work on the Courthouse fire alarm system, which has been malfunctioning following a thunderstorm. The repairs will cost $5,307.39 minus the amount covered by insurance.
