The Hamburg Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to be in town May 19.

Mount Zion and Mount Olive Cemetery associations in Hamburg, will be holding a meeting on Friday, March 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Hamburg fire hall.  Everyone is encouraged to attend that has loved ones buried there or interests in either of these cemetery's financial future.  Contact Beverly Catlett with any questions at 712-382-1360.

 

Two Nebraska City men have been charged  in connection with the theft of copper wire and damage to a center-pivot irrigation unit west of Hamburg on Jan. 30.

Nebraska City Fire and EMS responded the intersection of Highways 2 and 75 at 11:08 a.m. on Tuesday where there was an accident  involving Shalena Lakisha Mae Spellman, 29, of Hamburg, Iowa.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office reports that Spellman suffered fatal injuries after she pulled her 2001 Plymouth Neon into the path of a westbound Freightliner truck and semi-trailer hauling treated power poles.
