James "Jim" Leroy Anderson, 53, of Spencer died Jan. 25, 2009 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. The son of Floyd and Elaine (Duncan) Anderson, Jim was born March 2, 1955, in Alexandria, Minn.
He lived in Herman, Minn., then Fairmont, Minn., where he graduated from Fairmont High School. He served in the U.S. Army then attended vocational school in Jackson, Minn., for two years.
Jim moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he went to work for D-3 Appliance Company. On May 26, 1984, he married Evelyn Carlo in Las Vegas.
He went to work for People's Natural Gas in 1991. In 1997, Jim was transferred to Webster City, and in 1999, he moved to Spencer where he was an external manager with Black Hills Energy.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jamee Gronau and husband, Zach, and two grandchildren -- all of Omaha, Neb.; his wife, Evelyn Anderson of Spencer; special friend, Carolyn Riley of Spencer; brother Les Anderson of Colorado Springs; and step-father, Dick Mahar of Fairmont, Minn.
Funeral services were Jan. 28 at First Congregational Church in Spencer. The Rev. Tom Van Tassell officiated the service.
Burial will be at a later date.
