Jean Calvin Brown, 86, of rural Rock Port, Mo., died on Jan. 31, 2009 at the Wilber Care Center in Wilber, Neb.


Jean Calvin Brown, 86, of rural Rock Port, Mo., died on Jan. 31, 2009 at the Wilber Care Center in Wilber, Neb.  He had been a resident at the care center since June of 2005. Jean was born on May 3, 1922 in Hamburg, the son of Billie and Carrie L. (White) Brown.  He married Mary N. Collins on June 1, 1944 at Sidney.

Jean was a long-time farmer. He truly loved the land.

He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Price, of Lincoln, Neb.; a son-in-law, Curtis Siddens of rural Rock Port, Mo.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-great- grandchildren; one great-great grandson and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on Feb. 16, 2000; a daughter Dena Siddens; an infant son Carl Brown; son-in-law Marvin; Price and his brother Charles Brown.

Funeral services were Feb. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg with Pastor Jack Langley officiating.  Burial will be in the Grange Hall Cemetery at rural Rock Port.
